Things to do: Say hello to Puroland’s newest addition!

Sanrio Puroland, the home of Japan’s most famous feline, is a place where all your cutest dreams can come true. A place of live shows, rides and more Hello Kitty merchandise than you can shake your yen at. But if you’re planning a trip to the park, it might be worth hanging on until July 20 (if you can bear the wait) when its newest section will be opening. Called ‘Sanrio Town‘, the park’s latest addition will contain four attractions and a restaurant, with three of the attractions dedicated to popular characters Hello Kitty, My Melody and Little Twin Stars.

The aim of the new section is to let fans get to know their favourite characters. New attractions include ‘Lady Kitty House’, ‘Kiki and Lala Twinkling Tour’ and ‘My Melody and Kuromi Mymeroad Drive’. If you’ve ever wanted to know how the other half live – and by the other half we of course mean mouthless cartoon cats – then ‘Lady Kitty House’ should satisfy your curiosity. Visitors to the park can drop round to Hello Kitty’s home for a glimpse into her life and the chance to meet the lady herself. ‘Kiki and Lala Twinkling Tour’ is a walk-through attraction that takes you through the Dream Star Cloud where the Little Twin Stars were born, past the moon, stars and more cloud (expect a lot of cloud), while the snappily titled ‘My Melody and Kuromi Mymeroad Drive’, takes guests on a trip around Mariland from behind the wheel of the Eco Melody Car. There’s no real mention of what to expect from the fourth attraction at the moment, but whatever they have planned it’s guaranteed to be kawaii.
